The Last Turtle Tuesday at the Aquarium!
Every Tuesday throughout June and July, visitors to the UGA Aquarium will have special opportunities to see ambassador turtles up close during feeding, sunning, or soaking sessions! Get a special look at animal husbandry in action as diamondback terrapins, box turtles, spotted turtles, and more enjoy their essential care routines. Don’t miss these unique moments to observe and learn about these incredible reptiles! All ages are welcome, but children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Included with tickets, adults $7, children, senior and college students $5. 10-10:30 a.m. UGA Aquarium, 30 Ocean Science Circle.
Jurassic Wolf
Love Jurassic Park? Head to Sea Wolf for a dinosaur themed party with food, fun, and drinks. Dress as your favorite Jurassic Park character or dinosaur, win a prize if they love it. Jurassic Park will be playing all night long. All ages welcome. First come, first serve as they don’t do reservations. Food and drink prices vary, free entry. 4-10 p.m. Sea Wolf, 106 S. Campbell Ave.
Four-Hand Fireworks with Amici Music
Join Daniel Weiser with Amici Music for their chamber orchestral classical concerts on the 29th and 30th. He will play with piano colleague, Daniel Lau, and his wife, Kyle Engler, a fabulous mezzo-soprano, will join him to perform some thrilling four-hand piano music by Mendelssohn, Moszkowski, and Gershwin ("Rhapsody in Blue") as well as the Ziguenerlieder by Brahms and songs by Hoagy Carmichael and more. Yoga in the Park
Yoga in the park! Get your stretch on with free yoga in the park this and every Wednesday with instructor Danette “Dani B.” Bauer. Each class is sixty minutes, and open to all skill levels, with breathwork, inclusive language, physical modifications. Bring a mat, water, make a new friend. Queers at Sunset: Yoga and Picnic
For LGBTQ and allied folks, enjoy a free yoga session led by Rhiannon of As You Are Yoga, followed by a picnic potluck to build community, sponsored by the new Queer Collective. Yogic Meditation
This group is hosted by Carmen and focuses on Yogic style meditation. All participants have the option of a chair or a mat and bolster to sit on, but feel free to bring a zafu/zabutan if you have one you like to use! All spiritual practice, across all religions, starts with some form of meditation! Each session begins with a short talk on Yoga Philosophy, an explanation of the techniques, then have 10-20 minutes of practice together. All levels are encouraged to come, and chairs will be available. Tickets not required, $5 donation encouraged, but no one turned away due to lack of funds. 6-7 p.m. Cosmic Corner, 305 E. 38th St.
