Happy Hour Artist Talk with Harry Delorme
Join Arts Southeast for their Happy Hour Artist Talk series featuring artist Harry Delorme and his exhibition “Sediment: Pouring It On” on display in the Drive Thru Art Box. Harry DeLorme’s project for the Drive Through Art Box transforms plastic debris, most of it retrieved from Savannah-area waterways and beaches, into a visualization of consumption and accumulation. In this work, found plastic leftovers of drinks and meals - plasticware utensils, straws, mugs, cups, prescription medicine containers, and particularly bottle caps - speak to the omnipresence of this material in our lives. “Poured” from a variety of containers, the candy-colored sediment shown here demonstrates the allure of these objects, which persist in the natural environment. Free. 6 p.m. Drive Thru Art Box, behind Green Truck Pub, 2430 Habersham St.

The Making of Taylor Square Film Screening
Gullah Geechee storyteller Sistah Patt Gunn leads a diverse coalition in a three-year battle to rename Savannah’s Calhoun Square — once honoring pro-slavery advocate John C. Calhoun — after Susie King Taylor, a Civil War nurse, educator, and formerly enslaved woman. Despite legal barriers and opposition, the film chronicles a community’s resilience and determination to reclaim history. Hindsight Film Festival is proud to present this half-hour documentary by local director Caroline Josey Karoki and producer Abbey Hoekzema, who dutifully captured the ups and downs of this story as it unfolded. Many Savannah residents attended the jubilant dedication ceremony last year, and now the rousing backstory will be presented on the big screen, followed by an in-depth conversation with the filmmakers and the stars of the film. $10. Doors at 6 p.m., screening at 7 p.m. The Otis S. Johnson, Ph.D. Cultural Arts Center, 201 Montgomery St.
