Wurlitzer Wednesdays! 

Visit Savannah's most historic movie palace for a theater tour and demonstration of its original 1925 Wurlitzer theatre organ. In honor of the Lucas Theatre's recent restoration, visitors can explore the theater's storied past as they listen to the sounds of the organ and enjoy the SCAD-produced silent short film 'At Long Last.' Tours begin at 11 a.m. and the organ demonstration starts at 11:30 a.m. Lucas Theatre, 32 Abercorn St.

#art912 Artist Talk with Julia Roland 

Join for a conversation between artist Julia Roland and curator of modern and contemporary art, Erin Dunn, as they speak to Roland’s solo exhibition A Seat at the Table. This exhibition is part of the #art912 initiative, a platform dedicated to raising the visibility and vitality of artists living and working in Savannah. Talk: Celebrate André Leon Talley’s Lasting Legacy with Fashion Leaders 

Honor the life and legacy of longtime SCAD mentor and fashion icon André Leon Talley with leading cultural experts at this panel discussion, hosted by the Evans Center for African American Studies on the occasion of the exhibition André Leon Talley: Style Is Forever. Join Antoine Gregory — founder of Black Fashion Fair, artistic adviser to the exhibition, and creative director of the exhibition catalogue — in conversation with fashion designer LaQuan Smith, a mentee of Talley. The conversation is moderated by Rafael Brauer Gomes, the show’s curator and creative director of SCAD FASH museums. Opening Reception of Savannah Figurative Art Show 

Celebrate the opening of Savannah Figurative with artists, curators, and community! Inspired by McCaslin’s Savannah Open Model initiative, Savannah Figurative presents artwork by Lauren Howard, Astoria Jellett, Isaac McCaslin, Phil Musen, Deidre Riley, Steven Roberson, Richard Scott, and Jared Seff. The exhibition pairs realized works with sketches and process studies, offering insight into each artist’s method and relationship to working from life.
