Turtle Tuesdays at the Aquarium
Every Tuesday throughout June and July, visitors to the UGA Aquarium will have special opportunities to see ambassador turtles up close during feeding, sunning, or soaking sessions! Get a special look at animal husbandry in action as diamondback terrapins, box turtles, spotted turtles, and more enjoy their essential care routines. Don’t miss these unique moments to observe and learn about these incredible reptiles! All ages are welcome, but children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Yoga in the Park
Yoga in the park! Get your stretch on with free yoga in the park this and every Wednesday with instructor Danette “Dani B.” Bauer. Each class is sixty minutes, and open to all skill levels, with breathwork, inclusive language, physical modifications. Bring a mat, water, make a new friend. In this enchanting modern-day fairytale from legendary filmmaker Billy Wilder, Audrey Hepburn dazzles as Sabrina, the awkward chauffeur’s daughter who returns from Paris to the Long Island estate where she grew up—radiant, refined, and utterly transformed. Yogic Meditation
This group is hosted by Carmen and focuses on Yogic style meditation. All participants have the option of a chair or a mat and bolster to sit on, but feel free to bring a zafu/zabutan if you have one you like to use! Each session begins with a short talk on Yoga Philosophy, an explanation of the techniques, then have 10-20 minutes of practice together. Splash on the High Seas Free Family Day at Maritime Museum
The Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum is making waves this summer with Splash on the High Seas, a family-friendly day of water-themed fun and lifesaving education. From water games and craft stations to interactive safety stations and summer protection giveaways, Splash on the High Seas is designed to keep families cool and active while promoting essential water safety awareness in a city surrounded by rivers, marshes, and coastline. Safe Kids Savannah experts will be on-site to provide tips, answer questions, and demonstrate best practices for swimming, boating, and playing near water. Free admission to the museum included.
