IT'S heating up in Savannah, this week we saw 90 degree temps for the first time this year. It’s gonna be a sizzling summer. But in some way, the coolest, considering global warming.

The Encampments Screening and Panel Discussion 

Join others passionate about community care and activism both home and abroad with a screening of documentary “The Encampments”, that follows Columbia University’s student movement to set up a Gaza Solidarity encampment, aiming to pressure the university to divest from U.S. and Israeli weapons companies. Shabazz Seafood Festival 

To kick things off, Shabazz will be hosting their seafood festival all weekend. For those of you that aren’t familiar, it’s the little yellow seafood spot at MLK and Victory that boasts its “fish is so fresh it was swimming in the ocean just last night.” They’ve been featured in Travel and Leisure and Conde Nast, gathering a good amount of praise from tourists and locals alike. Their Seafood Festival will be open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and feature a platter of Shabazz fish, shrimp, crab, fries, and salad. 502 West Victory Drive. 

Ali Siddiq: In the Shadows

Houston comedian Ali Siddiq is bringing his latest stand-up tour to the Savannah Civic Center on the 23rd. Siddiq first started gaining traction back in 2013, but it was in 2022 with his “Domino Effect” special that he really started making a name for himself. With “In the Shadows,” he’ll focus on the years following his release from prison and what he did to make sure he never went back. The show will start at 7:00 pm, and tickets are available through Ticketmaster for roughly $50. Savannah Civic Center, 301 W. Oglethorpe St. 

FUN HOUSE LIVE with Front Porch Improv 

The improv team over at Front Porch will be hosting their FUN HOUSE LIVE show and promises a chaotically fun evening. In somewhat stereotypical improv fashion, this show invites guests to shout out ideas for cast members to somehow incorporate into a scene. It’ll last about 90 minutes and is geared towards an older crowd (16+) with “adult language” fully expected. Early Bird’s House and Urban Landscape Walk! Rhum Clement Sipscape at the Brice Hotel 

The Brice will be hosting a pop-up event they’re calling a “Rhum Clement Sipscape.” Doubling as a pool party and an introduction to their new official pool bar “Daisy,” this event will be from 12-6 p.m. and feature cocktails made with Rhum Clement liqueurs. The menu will include sliders, veggie kebabs, hot dogs, and chips, as well as High Noon seltzers and beer. Rack Em Up’s “Legends Show” 

Rack Em Up Sports Bar and Lounge is putting on a “Legends Show” of tribute performers. The show’ll consist of Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, and Prince tributes as well as MJ Footworkz (a Michael Jackson impersonator) and D.R.E. (David Ruffin Experience).
