THE attitude is gratitude. A traditional Thanksgiving may have been a time for colonizers to exploit people of color for personal gain, much like today, however we can still find ways to be grateful for what we have.

Festive Yuletide Tours at the Davenport House 

Attendees are warmly invited to enjoy this seasonal opportunity to step into the ornate world of the Davenports during the holidays, complete with historically accurate décor and an illuminating examination of Savannah’s holiday traditions in the 1800s. All guided tours during this period will include a special holiday interpretation of the Davenport House. Now through January 3. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students ages 18-21, $10 for children ages 6-17 and free for children under 6. Tickets are currently available online at davenporthousemuseum.org. Yoga in the Park 

Yoga in the park! Get your stretch on with free yoga in the park this and every Wednesday with instructor Danette “Dani B.” Bauer. Each class is sixty minutes, and open to all skill levels, with breathwork, inclusive language, physical modifications. Bring a mat, water, make a new friend. Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace Launches Historic Holiday Tour: A Gordon Family Christmas 

This holiday season, the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace invites you to discover the spirit of the season through A Gordon Family Christmas Tour. Based on meticulous archival research, this special tour offers a window into the holiday traditions that once filled this cherished home with joy. Set in the beautifully preserved home of Juliette Gordon Low, founder of Girl Scouts, the tour brings to life the festive spirit that once filled these rooms when Juliette’s parents welcomed their children and grandchildren home for the holidays. Every detail, from the wreaths to the menu, has been carefully curated based on family letters, memoirs, and historical documents. Tours run through January 4. Advance reservations recommended. Skate and Elevate Skate and Mentorship Series 

Like to skate? Join this new community program, Skate and Elevate, presented in partnership with 912 Skaters Coalition and the Chatham County Gang Prevention and Intervention Commission, hosted at the Habersham YMCA. Skate and Elevate is a free, all-ages monthly skating and mentorship event designed to bring our community together in a safe, positive, and inclusive space. Each session combines open skating, mentorship, and interactive discussions to empower participants through movement, connection, and shared purpose. Eastern Wharf 2025 Holiday Kickoff and Boat Parade 

The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra and Savannah’s Lighted Boat Parade will headline this year’s Holiday Kickoff Event at Eastern Wharf. The free, family-friendly event will commence with the opening of Santa’s Grotto at Eastern Wharf, where the intimate “Daymark Lawn” will be transformed into a magical open-air space decked out in festive and fun holiday decor, twinkling lights and a lighted Christmas tree. Attendees can take free photos with Santa using their own cameras or phones from 5-7 p.m. Boat parade begins at 7 p.m. Attendees can bring lawn chairs, blankets and small personal sized coolers no larger than 20” x 20”. Food trucks also on site. Free. 5-9 p.m. The Park at Eastern Wharf, 101 Port St.

Shop local from farmers you can trust! Find your fruits and vegetables with peace of mind from local farmers. Hit up the Forsyth Farmers Market for your local fresh produce and goods from rotating farms and vendors. Be prepared to see everyone you know and their mother-in-law. Get some flowers along the way. Mutual Aid Sharing 

Join the Savannah Democratic Socialists of Savannah (DSA) for a mutual aid sharing of food, clothing, hygiene products, and more. Stop by to donate or help yourself to something if in need. Reach out to them via Instagram @dsasavannah. Free. 3-5 p.m. on the corner of Waters Ave. and 37th St.

The Robert Strozier Memorial Christmas Reading of “A Christmas Memory” 

Join the Flannery O’Connor Home in their annual reading of “A Christmas Memory”. This year people will have the pleasure of hearing this beloved Christmas tale read by Savannah's very own legendary actor D.W. Moffett! You may recognize him from hit t.v. shows such as Switched At Birth and Friday Night Lights as well as his many movies including Thirteen, Traffic, and Twisted. He is currently serving as chair of the film and television program at SCAD. It is an outdoor event so please bring blankets and lawn chairs for your comfort. The Flannery O'Connor Home Foundation will provide hot apple cider and treats as well as a holiday cocktail for purchase by any interested adults. Free. The Old Dairy, 2500 Tennessee Ave.
