Four Seasons Remix with Amici Music
A wonderful chamber music program coming up this week entitled "FOUR SEASONS REMIX" this show is the first of several through June 12 with various venues. This unique concert features two piano trios by Astor Piazzolla and Max Richter that converse through time with the famous and ubiquitous work by Vivaldi. Richter's work makes direct reference to Vivaldi's tunes, but decomposes and recomposes them into constantly repeating loops that create an almost ghostly reflection of the original, producing a very minimalist approach that puts the listener into a truly hypnotic trance. Piazzolla, the Argentinian composer who helped bring the tango into the classical world, takes a decidedly more forceful and aggressive approach in his Four Seasons of Buenos Aires that echo the tension of that erotic dance of love. They will combine these two versions, alternating Richter’s seasons with Piazzollas to produce their own exciting Remix of Vivaldi’s amazing work, with two international performers- violinist Veronika Sveshnikova, originally from Siberia and cellist Jacques-Pierre Malan from South Africa. Visit Amicimusic.org for additional venues and ticketing. Ticket prices vary, from donation to $35. This event is at the home of Maaja Roos, in The Landings, full address available upon ticket purchase. 6:30 p.m.
